Welcome to Solace Haven
Solace Haven is a Not for Profit Organization with 501(c)(3) status. We were founded in 2016, by David Johnson and Shanetta Reed and we are governed by a board of directors. Our mission is to help the youth of Rochester, NY who are in crisis or harm’s way. Our vision has always been to provide a haven for youth in crisis, in our community, by supplying the support services needed to rebuild a stable, healthy and productive life. With the help of our expert staff and caring mentors, our ultimate purpose is to guide them towards becoming self-sufficient, by giving them the resources they need to become productive in society. Our philosophy: ”Educate Not Incarcerate”.
Solace Haven would not exist without the generosity of so many in our community. We are privately funded by community members and local organizations. Their support is helping to provide crisis housing for homeless youth in Rochester, NY. If you or someone you know is in need, or if you would like to find out more about how you can get involved and help support us, we invite you to get in touch or browse below to learn more.

Independent Living at the Age of 18 is Very Difficult in Monroe County
We are at the beginning phase of opening our first facility in the Rochester, NY area. Once completed, it will be a transitional living residence and program primarily for youth ages 18-24. This transitional living program will aid homeless youth to independence and improve the long-term outcomes of Solace Haven graduates who lack the family support that so many of us take for granted. This facility will change lives, but we can’t do it without your support.
